<---- Shadowclaw
She-cat, 15 moons
RANK: Warrior
ALLIANCE: Boulderclan
APPEARANCE: Shadowclaw's pelt is comparable in color to that of the darkest of nights. She is solidly this black color, however, with absolutely no variations in her fur at all, meaning that she looks quite plain. Her whiskers alternate black and white, much like most other cats' whiskers, and her nose is just as black as her pelt. Naturally, all four of her pads are black as well. The only color on Shadowclaw that isn't of some extreme shade of grey is in her eyes, which are the bright, fiery green of one who has seen much more than one of her years should have ever been subjected to. They almost match the color of the grass in the middle of greenleaf, but they are slightly brighter than even that.
In stature, Shadowclaw is actually quite small and lean. Though she is a fierce hunter for her clan, she takes only the bare minimum of freshkill for herself, rarely actually having the appetite for more. Her mother was on the petite side, which is where she gets that, even though her father was enormous. On one of her ears, she has a small chip that she doesn't remember getting and doesn't care about. It's just an ear, why should she care?
TL;DR An ink-black she-cat, small for a Boulderclan warrior, with blazing green eyes and a chip out of one ear.
PERSONALITY: Shadowclaw is what you might call a silent protagonist. She always keeps to herself, even and perhaps especially amongst her Clanmates, and they usually leave her well enough alone as well. She almost never talks save for an occasional mumbled reply of something she can't gesture to convey. The she-cat likes to lie in the sun, meaning that her black pelt is almost always very warm to the touch, but beware to those who would disturb her while she basks - she doesn't care who it is, she will turn and slash at them with very little warning. Shadowclaw is as close to fox-hearted as a cat can get, but she really doesn't care for her own personal gain and holds very little ambition to be a leader or even a deputy. She merely grieves for that which has been lost and copes in a much different way than most other cats would.
REASON FOR NAME: 'Shadow' for her night-black fur and 'claw' for her tendancy to claw first and ask questions later.
FAMILY: Heatherstripe - Mother
Stonewhisker - Father {deceased}
Leopardkit - Sister {deceased}
HISTORY: Shadowkit was born within Boulderclan alongside Leopardkit to a pair of fine Boulderclan warriors, Heatherstripe and Stonewhisker. Their parents were so proud of their fine she-kits, and Stonewhisker especially liked to boast about them to the other warriors.
"Shadowkit caught six beetles yesterday!" "Leopardkit is getting so big, she must have inherited that from me!" "Shadowkit almost knocked me over yesterday with no effort! She'll be a formidable warrior, mark my words!" It was his attachment to the kits that turned into Stonewhisker's downfall.
"There's a badger! I scented a badger!" yowled one of the apprentices from the mid-day border patrol as he rushed back into the safety of the camp. The badger had been hunting the night before and was obviously asleep in its den, so the dramatic howls were uncalled for; however, it gave a pair of sceming she-kits an idea that would land them in the apprentice den early for sure!
"Come on, Shadowkit, we have to hurry! If we get that badger before it wakes up, we'll be heroes!"
These were the final words of Leopardkit as the spotted scrap of fur hurled herself into the badger's hole; she didn't even get to cry out as she was slammed into the ground by a huge clawed paw and crushed like a beetle. Shadowkit was too horrified to move, and with its poor eyesight the badger couldn't seem to spot the tiny black kit standing next to the entrance to its den frozen with fear. With a final snarl, the badger turned and lumbered back inside to go back to sleep, but it didn't take long for another cat to show up.
Brave Stonewhisker had realized where his missing kits must have gone and had run out on his own to defend his beloved children, but to fight a badger alone was suicide and he knew it as soon as he saw the crushed body of the kit that had been destined to follow in his pawsteps. His final act was to claw the badger's left eye clean out of its skull before he shared Leopardkit's fate of having all of his bones broken in a single blow from a badger's paw.
The next few moons were a blur to Shadowkit. She had lost her father and her sister to a huge badger, one that she felt she could have stopped if only she hadn't been so scared. The badger was scared from Boulderclan's territory, but it had left its mark in the guise of a hollow spot in the hearts of the entire clan, where Stonewhisker and Leopardkit were missing. Shadowkit spoke only to her leader during her apprentice ceremony, and during her training acted as if nothing was wrong, though still she didn't speak again until her warrior ceremony.
At her warrior ceremony, Shadowpaw became Shadowclaw at nearly the exact same instant that Heatherstripe decided to leave her birth clan to live as a loner; she had grieved her mate for so many moons that she felt like there was no hope for anything else to go right. Somehow, she felt nothing for her kit - her only kit, without Leopardkit - becoming a warrior, and that made her feel as though there was nothing left for her but despair. Shadowclaw didn't even notice that her mother was gone until it was too late; she had wanted to go speak with Heatherstripe before she began her vigil, and her eyes had practically glowed with the excitement and hope that she had felt becoming a warrior, but all of that died when she realized that her mother was gone for good.
RP EXAMPLE: A blue shape streaked through the sky overhead, alternating between a pattern of twisting and then suddenly shooting straight forward in a perfect line and spiraling slowly down a little bit. White feathery adornments graced the blue creature's pretty, rounded face while joy-filled black pools watched the sky ahead. This is what unbridled and pure ecstasy felt like; a Dragonair flying without a bit of hesitation through the clouds and drifting along gracefully in the air, following thermals and making his own breeze with his twists and turns.
It was during this engagingly beautiful and joy-filled flight that the Dragonair caught a glimpse of something that made him nearly fall out of the sky; just below, looking into a fountain filled with sparkling, pure water, was the most amazingly stunningly gorgeous female he had ever laid eyes on. In fact, he decided that he was bored of flying right then and there and angled himself to land, moving more gently toward the ground than he had towards the sun before. It was more difficult to make a graceful landing if one was moving at too fast of a pace, after all, and he didn't want to look a fool in front of such a beautifully-formed Pokemon.
He decided to make a good entrance as he neared the ground and carefully navigated around the fountain, landing on the ground next to it and slipping silently in without a splash. His smooth blue scales were quite a help with this silent movement, and once beneath the surface of the water he wriggled his way through and around the bottom, navigating to where the beautiful lady was watching the water. She closed her eyes and he surfaced, only to watch a tear fall from her face and land in the water, spreading instantly out to be a part of the bigger whole.
"Hello.. is something the matter..?" He had been planning on flirting his tail off and charming this beautiful lady, but to bother her while she was crying would just be.. well, terrible, really. He was a figurative ladykiller, but he would never wish to hurt a girl's feelings, and this one appeared to already be emotionally harmed without his help. If she needed him to charm her to happiness, he wouldn't hesitate, but for now he would try to listen and comfort.
