<----WEASELPAW
Tom, 9 moons
RANK: Apprentice
ALLIANCE: Boulderclan
APPEARANCE: Scrawny, scraggly-furred pale brown tabby tom, green-yellow eyes.
PERSONALITY: Nagging, reluctant, reasonable, prefers to stay in camp, nonviolent, clinging, feels inferior to others, attention-starved
Definitely not a typical tom. Or at least, not up to the standards that some toms should be, Weaselpaw is just what his name states. kind of weasel-y. He's not a very large tom, not always well-groomed...but very much stressed.
Some cats just cannot learn to shut up, and maybe that's how Weaselpaw is..but when you're always just trying to hard to make up for everything you aren't..you can't help it. He nags a lot, about this and that. Pretty much everything. It makes him come off as a little annoying, but no one really notices him too much in the first place. He isn't that big of a deal compared to his brother, or even his one friend. He's like a sidekick to everyone else's adventure, to be blunt. He just doesn't like trouble, and will prod and pester anyone who causes it. Which is really not too many people, seeing as his social life is severely lacking.
Reluctant to really do anything, eh is the kind of follower who needs to be pushed and convinced before he really tries. It has always been that way, because he has never sen any point in competing. He's only going to lose, really. Doesn't stand a chance in the world. Yet, he does. He may feel like, compared to everyone else, that he is inferior. nothing. Just a lowly little apprentice on the clan-rank food chain. He desperately wants the attention, and tries to get it. it always fails, overshadowed by someone else's achievements or failures. He is just Weaselpaw, and nothing more. Nothing less.
When he does make something close to a friend, or any sort of relationship, he gets clingy. not talkative, not hyperactive, just kind of..there. A little shadow, with wide, bleak eyes and an unkempt pelt. A shadow that would much prefer to stay in camp, but somehow always ends up outside of it, dragging behind someone else's paws.
Despite his many flaws, he is a rather reasonable young tom. He knows right from wrong, good and bad, those sorts of thing. There's a stable head on those scrawny shoulders...
For the most part.
REASON FOR NAME: Weasel for his brown tabby pelt, paw for being an apprentice.
FAMILY:
Littlefoot-25 moons, NPC, Mother
Brackenfoot-33 Moons, NPC, Father
Berrypaw-9 Moons, NPC, Brother
HISTORY: Littlefoot and Brackenfoot had always been close friends, and it was really no surprise when the two became mates right after Littlefoot became a warrior. she was one of the best looking she-cats in the clan, and he was one of the toughest, brightest cats. It was only to be expected that they produced fine, young examples of that sort of excellence. Berrykit was exactly that, a honey-colored tom with a smooth, thick coat and bright gleaming eyes. Always friendly, out-going, the real golden child of his little family. Weaselkit, on the other paw...was not.
where his brother was handsome and pretty much good at everything, Weaselkit was just..plain. A short, thin coat..always kind of messy. Dull eyes, and with paws, ears and a tail that all seemed made for a larger cat..pretty homely. so, of course..even if it wasn't fair..even if Weaselkit needed the attention more, his parents pretty much deserted him for Berrykit.
Thank Starclan for Featherkit.
Right around the time when the two toms were starting to push their boundaries, (well, berrykit was..Weaselkit was terrified of leaving the nursery.) a queen was lost and left her growing kits, just about Weaselkit's age, in his mother's care. They were anything but normal, and both refused to leave him alone. against his better judgement, and constant complaints, they took him everywhere with him. Featherkit and Thymekit were everything he was not. Bold, adventurous...and a little reckless. okay..maybe a lot.
They weren't exactly what he needed, but they would have to do.
Not long afther his friends were apprenticed, Weaselkit and Berrykit joined them. his nest was right beside theirs..Berrypaw's was on the other side of the den, with all the cooler, older, stronger apprentices. He wanted to be as far away from his failure of a brother as he could get. If you ask either of the toms how the other is, they will ask "What brother?"
It's just how things work.
Thymepaw's death took more of a toll on Weaselpaw than it did the deceased tom's own family. They just continued on with life, and even Weaselpaw wasn't given enough time to mourn.
and right back into the swing of things he went, ready or not.
